ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will develop communication skills, including reading and writing, through various methods, including those found in traditional English classrooms and hands-on activities/projects. We will focus on English skills and content that is appropriately rigorous and geared toward "real-world" applications such as technical reading and writing while still working with integral pieces of American literature and foundational documents as well as academic writing and speaking. Lastly, the course will encourage academic language while promoting confidence and positive interpersonal relationships in order to prepare students for technical career fields and/or life beyond high school.
